Fees for NDIS patients

Sellick Psychology in Ivanhoe provide services that are charged in line with the NDIS pricing limits. Our team only charge for the time we spend supporting our NDIS patients, meaning if your psychology session is shorter than one hour, you will only be charged for that time.
As part of providing NDIS support, Sellick Psychology is required to complete reports on the progress of sessions, which will be billed at the same rate as sessions. The time spent by our team creating these reports will be listed on your invoices. Typically, report writing will take up to 2 hours, however, this may vary.
Sometimes the fee charged for psychology services maybe for over 60-minutes. This increased psychology fee reflects additional time taken by your psychologist for phone calls, emails or work in addition to the usual note taking. This information will be included in your service agreement.
What NDIS Patients Need to Know about Cancellations
Sellick Psychology understand that things come up and sometimes you need to cancel your psychology session. If you cancel with less than two (2) full business days’ notice, or do not attend your scheduled supports, we may still charge the full session fee. This is because we have set aside that time for you and cannot always rebook a psychology session on short notice.
Additionally, missed supports may delay therapeutic progress and may prevent other patients from accessing care.We believe having a clear policy in place for NDIS fees helps promote accountability, encourages commitment to therapy, and ultimately supports your journey toward improved wellbeing. Our cancellation terms will be clearly outlined in your Service Agreement.
Sellick Psychology may charge 100% of the session fee,as per NDIS guidelines, for short notice cancellations. This helps cover our team’s time if we cannot find other counselling and therapy work during that slot. Our team will always do our best to be fair and flexible, especially in emergencies. If you are ever unsure or have special circumstances, please do not hesitate to reach out, our friendly reception team is here to help. Thank you for your understanding and for being part of a respectful, compassionate therapeutic space.
Who we can Support as a Registered NDIS Provider
At Sellick Psychology, we are a registered NDIS provider offering therapeutic supports to children aged nine and above, teenagers, and adults. Our team of qualified psychologists in Ivanhoe work with individuals experiencing a variety of conditions, including psychosocial disability, a swell as intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, and physical differences. We do not currently provide Early Childhood supports for children under the age of nine (9) through the NDIS.
Our team includes clinical, registered and provisional psychologists who use evidence-based approaches to help participants build skills in areas such as communication, emotional regulation, daily living, and social interaction. We support individuals in managing their mental health, increasing independence, and participating more confidently in community life. We also assist with the preparation of NDIS reports for plan reviews and assessments.
Understanding the funding for NDIS Eligibility
To be eligible for NDIS funding, a person must have a permanent disability that significantly affects their ability to take part in daily life. This includes challenges with communication, learning, mobility, social interaction, or self-care. The NDIS looks at how a condition impacts a person’s functioning, not just the diagnosis. Even if symptoms vary over time, the overall impact must be substantial and ongoing.
The NDIS recognises a range of diagnoses, including intellectual (memory, problem-solving, and learning), cognitive (attention and decision-making), neurological (acquired brain injury or epilepsy), sensory (hearing or vision loss), physical (limited mobility and coordination), and psychosocial (mental and emotional wellbeing). A person may have been diagnosed with one or more of these to be eligible for supports. Evidence is required from a treating professional, such as a psychologist, showing the diagnosis, treatment history, and how the condition affects everyday life.
Any supports funded must meet the NDIS’s “reasonable and necessary” guidelines, meaning they must relate to the person’s disability,be effective, evidence-based, and beneficial, and not be more appropriately provided by family, community, or other systems like Medicare or education.
What is a Psychosocial Disability?
A psychosocial disability refers to the functional impact that a mental health condition can have on a person’s ability to participate in everyday life. This might include differences in communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, memory, decision-making, or managing daily routines and responsibilities. These experiences can vary between individuals and may fluctuate over time.
Not everyone with a mental health condition will experience a psychosocial disability. Under the NDIS, what matters is how the condition affects a person’s functional capacity and whether these impacts are likely to be permanent. The NDIS does not focus on diagnosis alone but considers how a person’s mental health condition affects their ability to live independently, engage socially, and manage daily tasks.
Mental health conditions can be supported under the NDIS when they result in significant, ongoing functional impairments. These may include, but are not limited to, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and dissociative disorders. Autistic people and those with cognitive or intellectual disabilities may also be eligible, especially where support is required across multiple areas of daily living.
